Environmental Risk Analysis is a process that evaluates the concentration of chemical elements and compounds present in soil and groundwater based on the risks that they pose to human health and considering exposure pathways, transport mechanisms, and the physical characteristics of the study area; all of this constituting an environmental analysis model.
METHODOLOGY
To perform the risk analysis, evaluation available standards are used along with mathematical model programs. The objective is to characterize the area regarding to health and environmental impacts and to assist the implementation of remediation and/or monitoring measures.
USE
Environmental risk analysis is used as a complement to the hydrogeological and hydrogeochemical studies performed in the environmental assessments.
