This type of service is provided by a
BfU team that is specialized in situations of immediate human health hazards and environmental risks. It is performed with the objective of eliminating or reducing risk in situations where a product in freeform is identified, all this in hopes of reducing and controlling the spread of soil and groundwater contamination. Situations that require emergency attention:
- Presence of any degree of LEL in enclosed spaces;
- Presence of contamination in underground facilities, supply wells, or superficial water bodies;
- Presence of contamination near fragile ecosystems or environmental protection areas.
Emergency services provided by
BfU:
- Isolation of the area and installation of ventilation and/or vapor extraction systems in enclosed spaces, verifying critical explosivity levels;
- Immediate removal of dangerous substances from surface and groundwater bodies with first-rate equipment (pumps, sorbents, floating skimmers, etc.);
- Containment through the installation of waterproof barriers, hydraulic barriers, or floating barriers for contamination found near construction areas or environmental protection areas, stopping the spreading of contaminants until effective removal through pumping and/or excavation.
