The intrinsically safe system developed by BfU uses a technique of pneumatic transport via atmospheric air to extract liquids and vapors from the tanks and subsequently separate liquids, minimizing oil residues and thus providing cost-effectiveness in terms of transportation and final disposal. Furthermore, by eliminating vapors, this process assures safety in future manipulation of the tanks (vapor elimination).
