// services // control of atmospheric emissions and odor reduction
BfU has a staff of experts able to solve problems generated by mobile or stationary sources of atmospheric pollution.
Some industrial processes as well as waste water treatment processes generate odorous compounds caused by a complex mixture of gases including molecules that contain sulphur (H2S and mercaptans), nitrogen (NH3and amines), phenols, etc.
BfU do Brasil develops and conducts odor reduction projects in domestic and industrial waste water treatment units using a natural surfactant.
To apply the treatment, the odorous compound molecules are attracted and encapsulated. The attraction occurs through opposite electric charges of the surfactant components and the gases.
In order to increase the contact surface, the odor-capturing product can be applied by: its pulverization into the gas-containing media, or pumping the gases through a tank that contains the surfactant, thereby causing bubble formation. The reduction of odorous compounds is monitored by installing mobile equipment both at the inlet of the vapor capture system (before treatment) and at the outlet (after treatment).
